बारिश की वजह से सेंचुरियन वनडे रद्द, दक्षिण अफ्रीका के नाम रही सीरीज

टीम इंडिया और दक्षिण अफ्रीका के बीच सीरीज का तीसरा वनडे मैच बारिश की वजह
से रद्द हो गया. इस तरह दक्षिण अफ्रीका ने 3 वनडे मैचों की सीरीज 2-0 से
अपने नाम कर ली. दक्षिण अफ्रीका ने भारत के सामने जीत के लिए 302 रनों का
लक्ष्य रखा था.बारिश ने बिगाड़ा खेल
भारतीय पारी अभी शुरू ही होती कि जोरदार बारिश आ धमकी. कई मौकों पर बारिश रुकी और मैच शुरू होने के आसार बने. शाम 7.50 पर मैदान का निरीक्षण करने का फैसला किया गया और फिर 8.45 पर मैच शुरू करने की घोषणा हुई, लेकिन बारिश फिर आ धमकी. खेल के लायक स्थिति न होने पर इस मैच को रद्द कर दिया गया.
मैच रद्द होने के बावजूद इसमें बने रिकार्ड कायम रहेंगे. कॉक का लगातार तीसरा शतक लगाने का रिकार्ड और भारतीय गेंदबाज इशांत शर्मा का 40 रनों पर चार विकेट लेने का आंकड़ा रिकार्डबुक में दर्ज रहेगा. कॉक को 'मैन ऑफ द सीरीज' चुना गया. कॉक ने इस सीरीज में 101, 106 और 135 रनों की पारियां खेलीं.
इससे पहले, क्विंटन डी कॉक (101) के करियर के चौथे और लगातार तीसरे शतक तथा अब्राहम डिविलियर्स (109) की कप्तानी पारी की बदौलत दक्षिण अफ्रीकी टीम ने सुपर स्पोर्ट मैदान पर जारी तीसरे वनडे मैच में भारत के सामने 302 रनों का लक्ष्य रखा.
टॉस जीतकर बल्लेबाजी करते हुए मेजबान टीम ने 50 ओवरों में आठ विकेट पर 301 रन बनाए. कॉक ने 120 गेंदों की पारी में नौ चौके और दो छक्के लगाए, जबकि कप्तान ने 101 गेंदों पर छह चौके और पांच छक्के लगाए. कॉक और कप्तान ने चौथे विकेट के लिए 171 रनों की उपयोगी साझेदारी निभाई.
मेजबान टीम ने एक समय 28 रनों पर ही अपने तीन विकेट गंवा दिए थे. हाशिम अमला 13, हेनरी डेविड्स एक और ज्यां पॉल ड्यूमिनी खाता खोले बगैर पवेलियन लौटे. इशांत शर्मा ने एक ही ओवर में डेविड्स और ड्यूमिनी को चलता किया.
कॉक ने बनाया रिकॉर्ड
इसके बाद कॉक और कप्तान ने शतकीय साझेदारी निभाई. इस साझेदारी के दौरान ही कॉक लगातार तीन वनडे मैचों में शतक लगाने वाले पांचवें और सबसे युवा बल्लेबाज बने. इससे पहले पाकिस्तान के जहीर अब्बास, पाकिस्तान के ही सईद अनवर, दक्षिण अफ्रीका के हर्शेल गिब्स और अब्राहम डिविलियर्स ने यह कारनामा किया है. कॉक यह करनामा करने वाले दक्षिण अफ्रीका के तीसरे और पहले विकेटकीपर हैं. कॉक ने जोहांसबर्ग में भारत के खिलाफ 135 और डरबन में 106 रन बनाए थे.
जहीर ने 1982 और 1983 में भारत के खिलाफ मुल्तान में 118, लाहौर में 105 और कराची में 113 रनों की पारी खेली थी. इसके बाद यह कारनामा अनवर ने किया था. अनवर ने 1993 में श्रीलंका के खिलाफ 107 रन, वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ 131 रन और श्रीलंका के खिलाफ 111 रन बनाए थे. अनवर के ये शतक शारजाह में लगे थे.
गिब्स ने 2002 में लगातार तीन शतक लगाए थे. गिब्स ने कोलम्बो में केन्या के खिलाफ 116, कोलम्बो में ही भारत के खिलाफ नाबाद 116 और फिर अपने देश में बांग्लादेश के खिलाफ 153 रनों की पारी खेली थी.
कॉक से ठीक पहले यह कारनामा डिविलियर्स ने 2010 में किया था. उन्होंने ग्वालियर में भारत के खिलाफ नाबाद 114 रन, अहमदाबाद में भारत के खिलाफ नाबाद 102 रन और फिर नार्थ साउंड में वेस्टइंडीज के खिलाफ 102 रन बनाए थे.
कॉक का विकेट 199 के कुल योग पर गिरा. उनका विकेट इशांत को मिला. उनकी विदाई के बाद कप्तान ने डेविड मिलर (नाबाद 56) के साथ पांचवें विकेट के लिए तेजी से 53 रन जोड़े. डिविलियर्स का विकेट 252 रनों के कुल योग पर गिरा. उन्हें उमेश यादव ने चलता किया.
इशांत ने झटके 4 विकेट
मिलर ने 34 गेंदों की नाबाद पारी में पांच चौके और तीन छक्के लगाए और अपनी टीम को 300 के पार पहुंचाया. भारत की ओर से इशांत ने 4 विकेट लिए, जबकि मोहम्मद समी को 3 सफलता मिली. 1 विकेट उमेश को मिला.
Dhoni wins ICC People's Choice Player of the year award
This
year's award saw five players from four different countries nominated
to win the only prize voted by the public at the annual ICC Awards.
Dhoni
beat teammate and middle-order batsman Virat Kohli, Australia captain
Michael Clarke, England skipper Alastair Cook and South Africa ODI
captain AB de Villiers to the prize as announced by ICC's Chief
Executive David Richardson. He now becomes only the third cricketer to
win this coveted prize after Sachin Tendulkar, who was the first-ever
recipient in 2010, and Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara, who won it in 2011
and 2012.
"This
is one of the awards that has given me tremendous satisfaction, since
it comes from the key stakeholders of the game - the fans. Recognition
from the people who support and encourage us day in and day out, only
inspires me to put in that much more, and go the extra mile for them. I
would like to thank all those people who have voted in my favour," said
Dhoni after winning the award.
Along
with the People's Choice award, Dhoni also earned a spot in the Test
and ODI teams of the year. He was also one of the six nominees for the
ODI cricketer of the year award.
Richardson
revealed the ICC Test and ODI teams of the year along with shortlists
for other awards to be presented at the annual ICC award ceremony next
year. The nominees for Test cricketer of the year include Hashim Amla,
James Anderson, R Ashwin, Michael Clarke, Cheteshwar Pujara and Dale
Steyn. Steyn has also been named in the Test side for the sixth year in a
row.
Saeed
Ajmal, Shikhar Dhawan, MS Dhoni, Misbah-ul-Haq, Ravindra Jadeja and
Kumar Sangakkara will compete for the ODI cricketer of the year prize.
The
ICC Awards is now in its 10th year and takes into consideration
performances during the period between August 7 2012 and August 25 2013.
This period includes high-profile events as the World Twenty20 in Sri
Lanka, the Women's World Cup 2013 held in India, the Champions Trophy
held in England and Wales along with several bilateral Test, ODI and
T20I series.
Shikhar Dhawan powers India to series win over West Indies
The
Indians first restricted West Indies to 263 for five and then
overhauled the target with 23 balls to spare to lift yet another ODI
trophy at home.
Dhawan
stole the limelight with an attacking 119 that came off 95 balls, his
fifth ODI hundred, while Yuvraj Singh notched up a 74-ball 55 to seal
the issue for the home side at
the Green Park Stadium which was hosting an international game after a gap of nearly four years.
It
was a welcome return to form for Yuvraj, who cautiously put together
129 runs for the third wicket with Dhawan to set the platform for the
easy win.
Earlier,
the trio of Kieran Powell, Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo struck
half-centuries to propel West Indies to a challenging total.
Powell (70) carried on his good form from the last match and registered his second fifty of the series.
Together
with Samuels (71), he shared a 117-run second-wicket partnership to lay
the foundation for West Indies after the visitors were put into bat by
India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Towards
the end, Darren Bravo (51 not out) and Darren Sammy (37 not out) played
aggressively to take West Indies past the 260-run mark.
Comfortably
placed at 137 for one at one stage, West Indies looked set for a big
score but India staged a comeback with quick wickets to restrict West
Indies to the manageable
score.
For
the hosts, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers
with figures of two for 45 from his quota of 10 overs.
Captain MS Dhoni fends off CSA,BCCI spat with `just here to play cricket` argument
According
to Sport24, CSA and the BCCI clashed on the scheduling of the tour,
which was reduced to three One Day Internationals and two Test matches
with the traditional new year`s Test in Cape Town scrapped altogether.
Dhoni
said jokingly that a match could be arranged for the administrators so
that they can go at each other, adding that they are busy playing
cricket and had nothing to do with it.
Whether the Indian team was disappointed about playing a shortened series in South Africa , Dhoni did not say, the report said.
